Wonderful Hobbitish Things

"There is another thing about the Hobbits of old that must be mentioned, an astonishing habit: they imbibed or inhaled, through pipes of clay or wood, the smoke of the burning leaves of an herb, which they called pipe-weed or leaf." (J.R.R. Tolkien - Concerning Hobbits)

Relaxing and indulging, Hobbitish things can be found even outside the Shire. It must be noted that Hobbit really love to indulge in the pleasures of a simple life. Please remember that smoking is really bad for your health, however we must mention the love of pipes and pipe-weeds that all Hobbit share. Often you will find them sitting outside their holes in the evening, looking at the stars and blowing smoke rings, an art that have perfected over the years.

"They seldom wore shoes, since their feet had tough leathery soles and were clad in a thick curling hair, much like the hair on their heads, which was commonly brow. Thus, the only craft little practised among them was shoe-making."(J.R.R.Tolkien - Concerning Hobbits)

It is well documented Hobbits do not wear shoes, however for the modern Hobbit that is not always an option when out and about. Here are my favourite Hobbit shoes by Blowfish.

"Come along and have some tea!" (J.R.R.Tolkien- The Hobbit)

Having a cup of tea is the most relaxing thing. Poring tea and leaving all your worries and work behind. Busy Hobbits forget their troubles, stress melts away and your spirit awaken. A very Hobbitish teapot from Tea Pot Mart that Bilbo would love as a reminder of his greater adventure against Smaug the Dragon.

"a very comfortable tunnel without smoke, with panelled walls, and floors tiled and carpeted, provided with polished chairs, and lots and lots of pegs for hats and coats." (J.R.R.Tolkien - The Hobbit)

What can be more Hobbitish then a Hobbitish house? This is a fantastic house inspired by Tolkien's work and build by Archer & Buchanan Ltd. Architects for a Hobbit fan. A dream come true, a superb dwelling for the 21st Century would-be-Hobbit.
