Tharanduil of Mirkwook King of the Elves

(Wood Elf King Thranduil of Mirkwood-The Hobbit movie 1977)

Tharanduil of Mirkwood, Elvenking and father of Legolas.Thranduil makes his first appearance in The Hobbit as the Elvenking. Bilbo and the Dwarves do enter his realm in the northern part of Mirkwood. Elves and Dwarves are not the best of friends, Thranduil's guards and locked the Dwarves in his dungeons when they refuse to divulge their intentions for been in Mirkwood to him . The Dwarves will eventually be rescued by Bilbo, who had remained in hiding with his use his ring (The One Ring).
