A Very Tall Hobbit ? Matthew Goode Audition for Bilbo Baggins

Seriously? The guy is 6 feet and 2 inches tall, that would be 1 meter and 87 centimetres approximately. Maybe we can wash him repeatedly in a 90 degrees wash with double spin at the end to make him shrink to hobbit size? Now I know that today technology and filming techniques can re-size an actor slightly if necessary but Matthew Goode as Bilbo would be like ask Goofy to be Mickey Mouse. To play a hobbit one must feel and be (as much as possible) like a hobbit...that said he may just have enough 'Bilboness' to become our beloved hobbit, however I don't know how I would feel knowing that Bilbo is actually 6'2 - just imagine The Hobbit premiere : " Here comes Matthew Goode that plays Bilbo Baggins....he is there, the guy tallest then Gandalf..." . Good Luck Matthew - you never know...we may end up with a very tall Bilbo.

"But just before we met, he’d auditioned for the role of Bilbo Baggins in Guillermo del Toro’s two-part film of The Hobbit. As he is the first to admit, he’s not an obvious choice – ‘Look at the size of me for Christ’s sake!" (telegraph.co.uk)
